Cheech and Chong by Cheech and Chong

Cheech and Chong’s self-titled album is a great record and it serves as one of the cornerstones of my collection. This record introduced me to what I’d call “higher comedy” as opposed to the stupid crap in my life leading up to it. Cheech and Chong are the real deal. Of course, I was just a kid when I heard this for the first time but it made an impression and turned me on to comedy.

This record isn’t particularly hard to find but the price can vary wildly. Don’t tell my wife but I paid $34 for the pictured copy but on the bright side, I have another one that only cost $10. Not sure what I was thinking there but you can never really have too many Cheech & Chong records.

Cheech and Chong records may not be for everyone. This is due in part to the fact that you have to actually listen and pay attention. Unlike the “comedy” you might find on YouTube or TikTok, this requires a little (just a tiny bit) of thought. It also helps if you like stoner humour. If you’ve never been exposed to a Cheech and Chong record before, you might be better off to find a copy of Up in Smoke on DVD, that will get you going.

I give this one a strong buy recommendation!
